Looking back at the 20th century, I don't know of any country that went full-on fascist and emerged from it peacefully following a normal political process. Either fascism was removed at the end of a brutal, devastating, horrific war that killed millions of people, or it ended after decades of a brutal reign of terror by the fascist dictator who couldn't continue the terror owing to, y'know, having died.

People who think 2028/9 will see normality returning to the U.S. with a peaceful transfer of power are probably deluding themselves.
